Morning Song is an alarm clock that turns what you plan for tomorrow into a song that wakes you up. This policy describes exactly what the app and its server hold, and what they do not. It is written against the actual behaviour of the software, not against a template.
The short version. There is no account and no sign-up. The app makes up a random identifier for your installation and that is the only thing our server knows you by. Your songs, alarms, settings and the notes you write live on your phone, not with us. What we keep on the server is a balance: how many songs you have paid for and how many you have used.
1. Who is responsible
Morning Song is published by Vittori, an independent developer registered in Georgia. For any question about this policy or your data, write to frozenheime@gmail.com. Full legal and registration details are available on request.
2. There is no account
You do not register, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other identifier. On first launch the app generates a random identifier (a UUID) for that installation. It is not derived from your device, your advertising ID or anything about you, and it is not shared between apps.
If you uninstall and reinstall, the app generates a new one. The previous identifier — and anything attached to it, including unspent credits — becomes permanently unreachable. That is a deliberate consequence of not having accounts.
3. What stays on your phone
The following never reaches our server:
- your alarms and their schedule;
- the songs themselves, once downloaded, and their lyrics;
- your style settings and style profiles;
- the notes you write about your day, after the song has been made;
- any calendar events you choose to import — they are read on the device.
Deleting the app removes all of it.
4. What our server stores
One row, keyed by the random installation identifier:
| Field | Why it exists |
|---|---|
| Installation identifier | To attach a balance to a device without knowing who owns it |
| Credits purchased and remaining | To let you spend what you paid for |
| Free trial songs used | To make the free trial finite |
| Subscription state (active, expiry, product, songs used this period) | To honour a Morning Song Plus subscription |
| Purchase tokens from Google Play | To confirm a payment and make sure it is credited exactly once |
| Created and last-seen timestamps | Basic operation and abuse prevention |
That is the whole list. There is no profile, no history of your songs and no record of what you wrote.
5. What passes through, and how briefly
The text you write or dictate
To make a song, the note you write about tomorrow is sent to our server and on to the providers listed in section 6, which write the lyrics and sing them. We do not store the note. It exists in memory for the length of the request.
Voice recordings
If you dictate instead of typing, the recording is sent for transcription, held in memory only, and discarded as soon as the text comes back. It is never written to disk on our server.
The finished song
The audio is held on our server only until your phone collects it, and in any case no longer than 15 minutes, after which it is deleted automatically. The copy on your phone is yours and is not synchronised back to us.
6. Who else processes your data
| Provider | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | The note you wrote, or your own lyrics | To write the words of the song |
| ElevenLabs | The lyrics; your voice recording if you dictate | To sing the song; to transcribe speech to text |
| RevenueCat | The installation identifier and purchase events | To manage subscriptions across stores |
| Google Play Billing | Your payment, handled entirely by Google | To take payment. We never see your card |
| Railway | Requests to our server | Hosting |
| Google Analytics 4 | Usage events (see section 7) | To see which parts of the app work |
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The app contains no advertising and no advertising SDK.
7. Analytics
The app reports product events — for example that onboarding finished, that a song was generated, that an alarm rang, that the paywall was opened — to Google Analytics. These events never carry your content: no notes, no transcriptions, no lyrics, no calendar titles and no audio. They carry only technical dimensions such as platform, app version, locale, the chosen musical style, and the installation identifier used as a join key.
8. Deleting your data
In the app, open Settings → Delete all my data. This erases everything on the phone and instructs our server to delete the row described in section 4. The deletion is immediate and permanent; unspent credits go with it, because there is no account to move them to.
If you have already uninstalled the app, or the deletion could not reach our server, use the data deletion request page.
We may retain a payment record where tax or accounting law requires it. Such a record is held by Google as the seller of record and is not linked to your identity by us.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and to object to its processing. Because we hold no identifying information, the practical route to all of these is the deletion described above. Write to frozenheime@gmail.com and we will answer within 30 days.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis is performance of a contract (making the song you asked for, honouring your purchase) and our legitimate interest in keeping the service working and free of abuse.
10. Children
Morning Song is intended for adults (18 and over). It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Song lyrics are produced by an AI model, and while the app asks it to stay clean unless you say otherwise, its output cannot be guaranteed suitable for children.
11. Security
All traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit. The installation token that authorises spending is stored in the operating system's secure storage on your device.
12. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where the change affects how your data is handled, note it in the app's release notes.
